DISASTER MANAGEMENT :-Disaster management refers to the systematic process of preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disaster to minimize their impact on people, property, and the environment. it involves various strategies to reduce risks, provide immediate relief, and ensure long term recovery.
Types of Disasters and Their Management :
Natural Disasters:
. Earthquakes - Construct earthquake-resistant buildings, follow safety drills.
.Floods- Build embankments, improve drainage systems, relocate vulnerable communities.
Cyclones- Install early warning systems, strengthen coastal defense
Droughts- Promote water conservation, implement sustainable farming techniques.
Landslides- Prevent deforestation, build retaining walls.
Human-Made Disasters:
. Fires- Install fire alarms, conduct fire safety drills.
.Industrial Accidents- Enforce strict safety regulations, train workers
.Chemical & Nuclear Disasters- Develop emergency evacuation plans, ensure proper waste disposal
.Terrorism & War- Strenghten national security,promote peace initiatives.
